RESULTS FROM DECEMBER 10TH SANDOVAL PLANNING & ZONING MEETING

Posted on December 11, 2024
ZNCH-24-005 is a request for a Zone Map Amendment from Rural Residential Agricultural (RRA) to Special Use (SU) for a proposed Solar Energy and Storage Facility on the subject site within the Diamond Tail Ranch.

Despite the many testimonies from attendees opposing the rezoning of the area, the Sandoval County P&Z Commissioners recommended approval to the County Commissioners with a 4-0 vote. As a result, the issue will now advance to the Sandoval County Commissioners for review and a vote. Meeting date is unknown at this time. Clearly, we are very disappointed in the outcome and will be meeting to evaluate our next steps in pursuing what is necessary to – hopefully – keep PCR Energy from destroying a beautiful area. It’s not a fluke that the Turquoise Trail was named a National Scenic Byway. Many thanks to all of you who have supported what we do. We’ll be posting more about what to expect in the future.
