Cast Your Vote for a Welcome to Sandia Park Sign

Posted on May 20, 2025

PROJECT ‘HERE’S YOUR SIGN’ VOTING BEGINS MAY 20

Sandia Park, NM: As a result of some grumbling from several Sandia Park residents—and beyond—about the placement of a ‘Welcome to Edgewood’ sign literally in Sandia Park, earlier this year, individuals and groups in the East Mountains communities decided to give the public an opportunity to select a design for a sign that welcomes the world to Sandia Park, to be placed along New Mexico Highway 14.

Adam Jones, a teacher at East Mountain High School; Bernalillo County Commissioner Eric Olivas, representing District Five; and the East Mountains Protection Action Coalition teamed up to organize the voting event, humorously dubbed the “Here’s Your Sign” project.

Voting begins on Tuesday, May 20, at 7:00 am and ends on May 30 at 11:00 PM. The polling website technology allows for one vote per participant. The winner should be announced in early June, pending the final approval of BernCo.
